I love shortbread. Homemade is best, but I'll gobble up Lorna Doones and Girl Scout Trefoils too if given the opportunity.
Butter really is better.
These shortbread cookies, from yet another new Food Network star, feature chocolate over butter. In the accompanying photo, they look kind of like dry brownies.
However, since Alexandra Guarnaschelli is a well-regarded New York chef (her restaurant's name is Butter!), I'm sure the cookies are far more delicious than dry brownies.
